Driven by curiosity and a growing disillusionment with the status quo, an isolated internet-user begins exploring the world of cryptocurrency and NFTs. On her kaleidoscopic journey, she encounters visionaries, dreamers, and revolutionaries who weave together a narrative of the most important emerging art movement of our time and the colliding ideals that it embodies.

As she falls down the rabbit-hole of the metaverse and meets the most influential creators of its culture, she confronts the chaos and beauty of the virtual world and finds a newfound appreciation for humanity.

Guided by our protagonist’s first-person perspective, NEW HERE shifts between digital and physical life seamlessly. The film will blend live-action and digital aesthetics to mirror the increasingly blurred lines between the physical and the virtual. Much of the film will take place in the metaverse, where the community lives and expresses itself most unabashedly. Online interviews, text chats, and voiceover will be used to capture a wide spectrum of artists and enthusiasts. Avatars will be used to represent digital identity, and interview formats will be collaborative with Web3 communities regarding approach and look.
